Was wondering if anyone thought it would be a good idea to introduce awards. kindof like the oscars, but obviously for the subjects relevant to digimods forum. such as 'best helper' so like at the moment it would be between kagepusher and mv design, but having the awards would encourage members to help people out more so they could win awards.

or another example would be obviously 'best chopper' and there are many condendants for that award.

and maybe we could have bogey awards for 'best bullshitter' or 'best spammer' (*cough* PARANOIA *cough*)

i have thought this through and i have thought about having a nomination forum for all the awards. witch would also have an award suggestion thread within it. and then having a vote thread for every award every year.

i would be prepared to organize it all if needed and set it up, but obviously i would need full co-operation from admin etc. but i wont go into that as its unlikely that anyone would be interested anyway.

i have thought this through quite deeply and i think i have every angle covered.

Hmm awards.. well it could encourage people to help more, people to spend another 46 hours on thier chop and making it perfect, or people to spam diffrent threads more :D

But is it possible to make a system instead of just "giving" the awards away, i mean everybady can write "Bullshiter of the year" or "Cat lover of the year" in thier avatar...

We've had awards in the past (every xmas).. never really worked.

why not make it a montly awards?? the choper with best progress, the most helpfull one, the most lost person on the forum etc....

Monthly isnt a good idea IMO

once a year, or every 6th month would be better i think.

Hmm yeah prizes. Should it be material things (You gotta keep in mind that ther are people from all over the world in this forum, and shipping costs) Or should it be for the honor? And if the prizes are material who are gonna pay for it. The admins, or pete shouldnt IMO

no i was thinking more like something scoutmkd did in his comps by making user bars, but this time it'll be somewhere above the avatars or sig that will point out on the prize the person got and there for earn some respect by the other chopers, but thats just me that's how i amagine this

as a little extra idea, you could create virtual ribbons or trophy's for that person signiture so they can flaunt their award, just a few ideas

actually, if someone was really bored they could code an addition to the forum where the admins could set certain awards to certain users which automatically would display below their icon or their sig or whatever based on votes.

would be a lot of coding, but would be cool.
