just a way of telling what level people are at. something under your name or avatar that an admin or mod updates or is automatic or soemhing that relates either to posts or chops.
just a sugestion.

how do u mean by ranks like: novice,imtermidiete ect ????

he means like when u get to post ur chops in the advanced and intermediate section( w.e they r now) u get a new rank.. or has u post count go's up the better rank u have and the more privlages u get...

That's not really a good idea as it will just encourage spamming, plus post count shouldn't matter and people can change their own so can just put whatever they want.
