What do do mainly do on a chop?

Copy and paste? or Brush?

Or do you like to do a mixture?

I'm more of a mixture - I like to brush - but due to my limited skills in this area, I like to paste in some bits to add to the realism.

I do love copy and paste the most, but at times it limits what you can do with kits etc.

Your thoughts?

Ill often hunt out some donors for parts, the cut them into pieces to achieve the exact angle i need..

if theres gaps in the part (i.e splitter) ill brush in the gaps

I was learning to brush but i dont have enough patience :(

Thats all brushin is, patience and layers....

I prefer Copy + Paste myself as you can get much better results, more realism. I tend to do both though, brush to correct errors etc...

But it dont matter as i havent chopped in an age...

I dont chop anymore but i like to see a mixture of both because it shows more skill..

Brushing is great and all but sometimes getting a certain picture to work with a hard donour can be just as difficult. I dont belive C+P is given enough credit.

Both, due to as Pete said, limited skills in brushing,s ometimes C&P is the only option, I do hope to get better at brushing though :)

Sometimes full brush, sometime C/P, but usually i do both

02-24-2006, 11:51 AM
I'm doing both, mostly rebrushing and stuff, but there are things that you just can't brush, and the same with c&p!

I do both.. Copy and paste the part i want, then touch it up and edit it and brush out imperfections... but yes.. im still shite at chopping

I do more c+p then brush, i brush small edges just for make the c+p parts look good and nicely fitted.

so.. c+p for me i guess..

edit: lmao, im the first one who said c+p, theres no-one who does allot of brush while there are more people who do fully brushed kits and stuff, i think that is were its about. I cope and past the bodykits, reflections and other stuff, while some (the rest?) brush there bodykits, roofs, interior and stuff like that.

Just look into beginner section, not muc c+p, they all think its cool to brush but they cant, because it very hard and imo it just looks bad, im not good in it aswell although i havent tried to brush full kits and stuff because i know its gonna look toony, c+p is at least realism.

I rather have c+p bumpers that are off then brushed bumpers (brush? filled with one colour?).

i do overbrush allot

*gets back to the civic* :|

depends on the chop - if i'm going for extreme, it will be some c+p, but mostly brush.

if it's a euro style chop for instance mostly all of it would be c+p

Most of my chops are a combination of both.

But when I can c/p something I will always do that, I like to c/p much more than to bush parts.

It's much more realistic imo and I think it gives a more tuner feel to it like in real live, the times you see that people really make there own bodykit aren't that much so most of them buy a bodykit.
And imo that is a bit like c/p on a chop.

i wish i could brush...fuck it i wish i could c+p aswell :)

c+p, because its easier lol i cant brush very well at all, i just cant get the hang of it, correct me if im wrong but there is a shortage of brush tutorials and stuff aswell

Edvard

I do both, reflections are mostly cp, but i use to rebrush them.
usualy i C/P shapes for parts, again, i rebrush them to suit the lightning and stuff. Some times i go wild thoug, and brush about eveything, like on the Racing Corolla

so all in one, i mix using brush and cp, but I brush most.!

Although I have been toying more and more with brushwork
as time progresses, I prefer to mix...it has the advantages
of both C/P and A/B.

Mixtures allow you to be creative, but maintain more convincing
realism than just brushing flat out.

i try to brush most, but if i cant brush it, like in most cases, ill do copy paste, but i keep trying to brush shit out :)
i think the best is the combination of the two, copy paste + Brush togetter to get the best effects ? thats my oppinion :)

Magnus

i try to brush what i can (limit deluxe) the rest i c&p

Don't really chop much, but when I do i'll brush the kit (tooning helped me learn), but only simple splitters and skirts, then C&P rims, 'tercoolers exhausts etc to finish it off.

Ben.

I atempt to brush but mostly its C&P and maybe the odd bit to try and tie it together. Its just Trial and error seeing what works

x2.

I always C+P the bodykits and use the brush to blend them in or make them look better.
But I'm beginning to brush bodyparts. They look crap though :?

well... cp and brush combined together usually give the best results for me :|

I generally use a combination of the two methods. The main advantage here is that it gives
u the best of both worlds.. However I tend to find the need to overbrush alot of C+P in most
cases.. cos generally u'll find inconsistencies between the reflections on the donored parts,
the car and the bg.

This compromise allows you to achieve more realistic results as well as attaining the level of
originality and creativity (which I believe is the most important aspect) and also adds a level
of uniqueness to your chop.
