Well. This is going to be a major project of mine which i'm taking very seriously. Not giving away loads of details atm...

It's a music site with reviews, latest news etc etc. The usual.

I'm not going for a major massive design which will take ages to load. I don't want that.

Obviously it'll be expandable (downwards) so that i'm not constricted with space.

Google ads are there to give me an impression of the space they'll take up.

Comments are more than appreciated. Thanks.

little contradictory eh?

love the design, really appeals to me.

only thing i would change is the grey news bar...dont like how its aligned to the right. i would stretch it all the way or have it on the left.

oh, and the large navy box to the right of the banner...whats that going to be for?

really nice banner too :)

edit: i would also box off the google adds above the nav, as it could be a little confusing as to clicking links...

Oooh yeah. I forgot about the news header bit. That will be sorted. I don't like it there. The bit on the right will be RSS feeds. *fingers crossed*

:D

The google ads are meant to blend in so they get more clicks.

Cheers for the comments.

It looks really good.
But you do no if you want music on there, images, etc related to music.
You'll have to have permission...

Since the UK has strong copyright laws. :)

Oh, i don't think it matters about the images...
Just if you we're to steam music, etc...

And, most of the time permission is granted to a company or person with a deposit, payment, etc... Normally isn't cheap to

Say to: sony records...

Aaaah. I'll risk it.

Loads of websites have images. :D

Not doing music because I know of copyright laws etc and really can't be bothered with the hassle.

so what kind of music will it be about? or a wide range?

overall the design and idea(s) sound really good :)

Everything.

I hate people with closed opinions on music. Like "I only listen to rock, everything else is shit".

Of course, I don't like every genre of music. But I aim to please everyone. So if they want a genre and there is enough demand for it, it'll be added.

I'm hoping it gets popular. :)

Ok, not everything is shit, but most is. :P Good thing I'm just coding it, not writing any reviews about rap and shit like that.

But yes, scoooopy, I know how I'll be coding it now...and I've noticed you don't have a login form or page anywhere...which has to be added (or reviews will be total spam, since they can't be tracked or emailed)(yes, we will be tracing IPs, lol)(omg so many brackets)(weird how the user database will be larger than the review database)

Soooo I was thinking since you've got 'album reviews' and 'artist reviews', why not just have 'music reviews' which will be the search part where they can choose to search for artist or album reviews, or search by genre, or by username, or by rating, etc. And since now you'll only have one link for those two things you had before, the other can be the login part (and register part).

Yeah. that was a long post.

You can write some Thrice reviews you big rock freak. :P

That sounds cool. Yeah I know it needs a login thingy. Still needs a few other minor things so yeah. I'll add them.

Talk about it later matey. I have a lesson now.

Looks nice, plain and simple :P

Theirs loads of these sites out there so you might need to start reviewing :P

Who's doing the reviewing anyhow? Is it a user submited thing? or a set amount of people?

But still, looks good and good luck :thumbs up:

I know it's not an original idea...But meh.

I searched Google for Music Reviews and BBC was highest. The others didn't really seem to be dedicated to music reviews.

It will be user submitted. But with an incentive. Say if you get 20+ 5 star ratings from other users, you will get money/tshirt/cd/whatever. Something to make people write better reviews.

sounds like a good endeavour p1nk. its a nice simple + clean layout.
would be good to see the main banner become a bit of an introduction
done in flash perhaps as this would be a good opportunity in aiding to
give the user an understanding of what the site is about. composition's
looking good so far. sounds like u've got a bit of planning on the
business side of things ahead of u too
