If your pentool/line tool skills are not 100% like mine, there's an easier way to make an outerline.
select raw with the normal lasso tool around the car that you want to toon. ctrl-c ctrl-v it.
Now make the BG invinsble (???) en delete the bgparts with the pen tool or lasso tool
when you have the whole car, fill it in with black, set the layertype on "screen". normally you wont see a thing...then give this layer an stroke in the desired width and color... Ee voila, a smooth outerline
thats the way i do my outerlines, and it looks the best that way :)
